Swamp Fox Coordination Letter # 4, October 2004

To all Swamp Foxes,

The following comments are provided for all to be aware of our current activiti= es.

Doc Jen= nings continues to build the Swamp Fox Net with info received from individuals th= at have responded with personal data. There was little to no comments received concerning a “Contacts” button on our home page. Individuals interested in recent SF Net contacts can check the Registry but= ton for additional listings. Doc has also generated a trial CD with vario= us documents on it. It is being reviewed and revised. An initial first edition should be available sometime in November or December. There h= as been discussion that an initial copy will be provided to anyone that is currently on the SF Net and requests a copy. If this is done, we will= need a mailing address for each person that requests a copy. Note, we may = also request a $3 donation to cover the production cost of the CD. Everyon= e is encouraged to continue to review and grow the SF Net by providing updated i= nfo and additional data to Doc via the website.

It has been suggested that a button be added to the home page that would allow individuals to describe what their career activities have been since their Swamp Fox tour. Please provide feedback to the coordinator if you tha= nk such an effort would be worthwhile.

Gary Simon still has Swamp Fox patches available for purchase (see the Store button). His shirt project is underway, but you must provide the shirt. Three of the Swamp Foxes at the SAT reunion wore the shirts, a= nd we received very positive comments from the other attendees. A Bird D= og pin has also been located and info should be in the Store soon.<= /span>

The 199^th DFC Project is underway. Several recipients have responded, but we need more to come up on the net with Sam Givhan (s_givhan@hotmail.com). If you received any individual awards (other than for meritorious service) and you have data concerning the official orders and citations, contact Bob Woolley (bjdubu@aol.com).

There were five Swamp Foxes at the 183^rd’s reunion in SAT; Gary Simon, Jim Strye, Doc Jennings, Willy Williams = (from Houston) and Bob <= span class=3DSpellE>Woolley. There were representatives from the 74= ^th, 184^th, 219^th as well as over forty from the 183^r=
d. On an interesting note, over twenty of the 183^rd wives attended = (to include Gary’s wife, Georgia); something that should be remembered when we gather. T= he 219^th announced that they would hold a reunion in Daytona Beach in the fall of 2005, and a collective reunion of all the = Bird Dog units is being planned for Washington DC in the spring of 2006.
